Kate and Chris, such a dynamic duo. Chris got his dream job as a photographer with ESPN and had to move to Connecticut months before the wedding and Kate stayed behind in her beloved Charlotte, all the while knowing she'd be joining her sweet husband after the wedding. He bought new glasses while he was away and apparently Kate wasn't too keen on the new style. For a couple who had done everything together, I think it was so hard for them to do much apart (much like it would be for Bill and I). Chris is the type of guy that instead of wearing those glasses that Kate didn't like, he made sure he wore the glasses she knew and loved on their wedding day. So not only when those church doors opened was Chris blown away, but Kate had a sweet surprise too and a reminder of the "old ways". It's simple and little things like that, that I love that we know about our clients. The stories that they share with us and how much they let us into their lives. Our lives are better for it and it just let's us be completely wrapped up in their wedding days, every touch, every kiss we capture, they aren't just pictures, we're living your love story and it's such an honor.
Kate and Chris went on to have the most beautiful wedding and super fun reception. Sure everything wasn't perfect...we had to improvise her bustle (happens at almost every wedding) and not everything ran on time, there was rain (so what, it happens), we even got caught in it (me, Bill, Chris and Kate for photos and we even got locked out of the building - but we all laughed about it afterwards. They were so wrapped up in the big things that although they wanted a sparkler exit they forgot to buy the sparklers, but their awesome coordinator at the Peninsula Club had so many left over from other events they were still able to have literally everything Kate wanted (and I think a little more). Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Duzan! Let the adventure begin!
