Renata was seriously the most amazing bride. I don't know how she kept her wits about her. The hour she was set to arrive on the top of the mountain on which her venue sat; a monsoon of a rain storm arrived. All of us wedding pros hunkered down (well January and I and the videographers), the planners and caterers kept going underneath the tent setting the delicate vintage plates and teacups. We waited, not really patiently. January was like a caged beast waiting for the rain to stop, she wanted to take ALL THE PICTURES. We had arrived and the sun was shining and already knew where we wanted to take the dress shots, the shoe shots, the bridal portraits but then the rain changed a lot of that. We reworked our plans, to keep the dress safe and dry and as soon as the rain stopped we went to work. I said a prayer that the rain would stay away the rest of the afternoon and evening (there was a 70% in the forecast) and blessed we were, because the monsoon passed and that was that! Renata arrived with her bridesmaids and finished getting ready in the bridal suite on site.
Renata and Brett did not want to see each other before the ceremony, the only thing she requested was a first look with her father and some time to pray with her family before it all began. Renata and Brett already have a beautiful 3 year old daughter together, Graceyn Renee. Graceyn is named after both of the bride and groom's mothers, who have passed away. I wondered how Renata would be without her mother on her wedding day. Both mom's were mentioned often and celebrated, with each parent's wedding photos and Renata's mother's teacups adorned each table at the reception as a part of the centerpieces. Renata's father choked all of us up when he spoke of how he had been dreading Renata's wedding day ever since her mother had passed. He wasn't sure how he'd get through the day without her but it had actually been much easier than he thought because Brett was so good for Renata. Ironically I think the only ones not crying were Renata and her Dad. As I scanned the crowd everyone was crying including myself. Renata handled herself with such grace and beauty. She was so wonderful. I've never seen a bride so calm and collected yet silly and go with the flow. Brett was just as kind and gentle. There wasn't a negative tone to the day at all. There was so much gratitude and kindness it was like the entire wedding day was surrounded and wrapped in a giant hug, I know that sounds silly but it's true. What a blessing that was! All of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, family and friends everything was just wonderful. We're so happy for the new Mr. and Mrs. Varnadore! Thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding story!
