Stephanie & Terril, Carolina Inn and Top of the Hill - Chapel Hill, NC

Stephanie and Terril are another one of our couples who can say "this has been a long time comin'"!  They met as college Freshmen at UNC Chapel Hill.  To sum it up Stephanie walked up to Terril on the basketball court and apparently the rest is history.  All these years later they made it official.  Their wedding day was HOT!  I don't mean a little hot, I mean like HOT.  Highs that day reached 97 but the heat index was well over 100, it was officially the hottest day of the year (so far).  Thank goodness they planned an indoor ceremony and when it came for photos they were more than happy to say, "let's do what we can inside".  They did plan for a first look, mainly just to get the jitters out of the way and Stephanie had told me at some point in the wedding planning that they'd been together for so long it just felt right to see each other beforehand.  They did all of their getting ready at the gorgeous Carolina Inn and while I was busy snapping away photos of the bride dressing I had January picked the location for their first look.  Of course, she went for the awesome black and white tile hallway and since it was a Sunday brunch wedding lighting was perfect and for the most part, we didn't have to fight a large crowd and the first look moment was perfect. Stephanie and Terril laughed through most of it, which made it all too fun and sweet.

Stephanie didn't want too much fuss and really hoped for a more casual and laid back wedding day.  The couple wanted to join their cocktail hour and with a quick list of family photos we made it happen.  A beautiful brunch of some southern food including chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy and lots of fresh fruit the day moved into toasts and lots of laughter and dancing.  We did pull the bride and groom outside for a few photos during the reception but the party kept going.  The wedding reception ended nice and smooth, no grand exit was planned other than lots of hugs!  Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Fields -- it's finally done, you're now OFFICIALLY husband and wife!  We wish you love, joy and only a sincere continuation of amazing stories to fill in your story book!
