There was no shortness of love, kindness, thoughtfulness or beauty on November 5, 2016 at Highgrove Estate. The place was overflowing with it all. Two amazing families celebrating and cheering on two amazing and incredible people, Chelsea and Bradley. I'm not overselling the "no short" part either. Chelsea is the oldest of four daughters and she and her sisters are BLESSED with a mother and a father who are not only crazy for their daughters but are still beautifully in love with each other. It was beautiful to watch Chelsea's father (and mother) give away their eldest and know that they will be doing it three more times. Her father held his own and often times was tough enough to crack a joke and we all knew it was to keep the water works from flowing. Bradley and Chelsea's father have a terrific NC State (Bradley) and UNC (Dad) rivalry that is undeniable and kept the jokes flying all day (you'll see this shown at least a dozen times throughout the day through Papa Bear's socks - I guess he had to get his Tarheels in there somewhere).
Chelsea and Bradley decided to have a first look and complete their posed photos along with as many of the wedding party photos as we could complete prior to the ceremony. Bradley's father served as his best man, and then he had his older brother and his best friend from childhood by his side. Chelsea's three gorgeous sisters and her best friend were her bridesmaids. The entire ceremony was incredibly emotional. I've never heard so many sniffles. It was beautiful! Chelsea and Bradley did great but I will forever (and ever) remember Bradley's vows. He spoke of how everyone had been asking him if he was nervous leading up to the ceremony and his answer had always been "no", until the night before at their rehearsal dinner when he finally replied with a different answer and said he was "anxious". Then he began to describe that anxious feeling. I'll never be able to describe it the same way he did, but he said it was the same anxious feeling he'd get when he was just a little boy and he was waking up on Christmas morning. He said Chelsea was the greatest gift he'd ever get. Oh, there wasn't a dry eye in the place. I scanned the crowd for their reactions and emotions along with the bride and groom. What a beautiful way to describe his love!
The rest of the evening was filled with delicious dinner, (toasts which included Bradley's older brother sneaking in his favorite food, Bojangles) company with friends and family and of course, dancing before the couple left through a tunnel of sparklers. It was the perfect day. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Edge. Life is what you make of it and I have no doubt your world is going to be beautiful!
